The Runes
What are Runes?
Runes are an ancient Norse alphabet system, originally carved into stone and wood. But they were far more than writing—they were a sacred tool of divination, a way to receive insight from the unseen. Each rune holds not just a sound, but an energetic signature, a mystery, and a message.
When we work with runes, we’re not just pulling symbols—we’re opening a channel to your subconscious, your ancestors, and the fabric of fate. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or confirmation, rune readings offer grounded, no-nonsense insight from the ancient ones.
My Approach to Runes
I connect to the runes through a deep remembering. In a past life, I believe I served as a Volva or Seer—someone who held and read the runes as prophecy and soul guidance. In this life, I bring that connection forward with respect, humility, and heart.
Readings may include:
Single rune insights (for daily guidance)
Full rune spreads (for deeper themes and crossroads)
Casting (runestones are cast onto a cloth to see where and how they land)
Every rune session includes a discussion, translation, and interpretation. You’ll leave with a photo of your spread and a written summary.
Sessions can be in person or online.
Where Did the Runes Come From?
The runes were not invented—they were revealed. In the old Norse myths, it is told that Odin, the Allfather, god of wisdom, magic, and war, sought the secrets of the cosmos—knowledge beyond the reach of ordinary gods and men.
To find it, he made a sacrifice no other dared.
He hung himself upon Yggdrasil, the great World Tree that binds all realms together. For nine days and nine nights, he dangled between life and death, pierced by his own spear. No food, no drink—only the silence of the void and the winds of fate.
He gazed into the depths of the Well of Urd, watched over by the Norns, the weavers of destiny. And there, through suffering and surrender, the runes revealed themselves to him—mystical symbols brimming with power, each one a key to the hidden workings of the universe.
With this newfound wisdom etched into his soul, Odin returned from the brink. He shared the runes with gods and humankind, teaching us how to use them for writing, magic, healing, and the reading of fate.
To this day, runes carry the echo of that sacrifice. They are more than letters—they are ancient portals of power, gifts from the Allfather, for those who dare to listen.
