”upp nam ek rúnar” translates to “ I took up the runes” and refers to picking something up as in learning them. Luckily we do not need to go to the lengths odin did to understand the meaning of the runes. this work has been done. we are now in the blessed position to receive their message.
Types of runes reading

Reading or casting
The Runes can be used to make a reading specifically aimed at answering a question you might have. In these instances we might pick a significator to structure the reading around, or we might just pick a Rune for each part of the reading.
Or they can be a casting where the Runes are picked up all at once and cast (thrown) down leaving their placement and importance up to the gods. This method is good for understand overall energies of situations. But I also offer my own 5-cast method that is akin to a reading.
