Nutrition
Hippocrates said "let food be thy medicine and thy medicine thy food.” Yet we seem to have lost this incredible advice.
Today, we are surrounded by ultra-processed food. The temptation is both real and unfair. Marketing departments around the world are specialists in getting you to eat what they sell. But there are ramifications. Some people choose to deal with these ramifications via the support of modern medicine.
That’s not the approach here. What I do is treat with nutrition. The vast majority of disease and illness can be fixed through a person’s diet.
This part may be the majority of our work, or it may play a part in a wider plan. Either way, nutrition is likely to feature in our coaching sessions.
I am training in Nutrition with the College of Naturopathic Medicine. But I am also certified by the Center of Nutrition Studies in Plant-Based Nutrition. This does not mean I only advocate a plant-based diet. I believe strongly in the overwhelming scientific evidence (as well as personal experience and results). But we can discuss this and I can apply my knowledge to help create a personalised plan for you.

Stress Management
Stress = Inflammation = Disease. It’s that simple. Now think about every time you have gotten an illness or a health condition that made your life difficult. I imagine you can connect a stressful situation or occurrence to it, right?
Stress management plays a huge part in our overall health. If you have high levels of unregulated “bad” stress, you are at risk of knocking a bunch of your body’s regular systems. If these systems end up our of balance, it will tell you about it, and it won’t be pleasant.
Just think about high blood pressure for a second. Your blood pressure is a regulated system. Your blood pressure increases with stress (notice the white coat syndrome when you have your pressure taken at the doctors?).
If you keep spiking this system, it will adjust and start to make it the norm. What does your GP do? Medication to regulate it. But hang on, you could regulate it yourself, after all, your body is an expert at it.
As a certified meditation facilitator and breathwork teacher, I have the tools to help you manage stress and make a meaningful shift.

Lifestyle Optimisation
Nutrition and stress are two of the primary causes of disease that are the easiest to make a meaningful impact. So they do get a bit of special treatment here. However, we have a lot more in our lives that can keep us healthy.
Exercise - Staying active is incredibly important. There is an awful lot of information and marketing out there, but it can often feel overwhelming and a little judgey. We bring exercise in so it fits with you, but making sure you have the right professional support either through a plan to take away, or a person to work 1:1 with.
Sleep - There is a famous story about Margaret Thatcher and 4 hours sleep. This is a dangerous path to follow. Lack of sleep might not directly harm you in the near term, but it will in the long term. Let’s fix it.
Hydration - Even if this is a simple idea, we can make sure you are hydrated right. You are 50-75% water and your brain is 75% water. You need to get it right.
Herbal Remedies - Before there was medicine as you know it, there was medicine as the plant would provide it. Maybe a herbal supplement or remedy is better suited for your health.
